Um evangelista é uma pessoa que tem o dom de pregar o evangelho, trazendo pessoas para Jesus. Deus usa o evangelista para convencer as pessoas do pecado e da necessidade de salvação. O trabalho do evangelista é muito importante mas também precisa da cooperação dos outros membros da igreja.
Evangelho significa “boa notícia”. O evangelista é a pessoa que leva a boa notícia sobre a salvação em Jesus para outras pessoas. No entanto, esse não é trabalho exclusivo do evangelista. Todo crente tem o dever de pregar o evangelho a quem ainda não crê (Marcos 16:15). O evangelista tem apenas um talento maior para evangelho.
O que um evangelista faz?
A função principal do evangelista é apresentar as pessoas a Jesus, mostrando o caminho da salvação. Através de conversas ou pregações, o evangelista explica sobre o pecado, a necessidade de salvação e como Jesus veio para nos salvar. O evangelista ajuda as pessoas a tomarem um passo de fé e entregarem suas vidas a Jesus.
O trabalho do evangelista deve ser apoiado pelo resto da igreja. A conversão é apenas o primeiro passo. Cada pessoa que se converte precisa ser integrada na comunidade cristã e ser ensinada a viver para Jesus (Mateus 28:19-20). E isso não é responsabilidade do evangelista, é responsabilidade de todos.
Um evangelista também pode ter outros dons. No Novo Testamento, um seguidor de Jesus chamado Filipe era conhecido como evangelista. Além de levar muitas pessoas a se converterem, Filipe também tinha o dom de servir, realizar milagres e curar doentes (Atos dos Apóstolos 8:5-7).
Quem pode ser evangelista?
Qualquer pessoa que tiver o dom pode ser evangelista! De qualquer forma, todos devemos pregar o evangelho quando temos oportunidade. Evangelizar não é trabalho exclusivo do evangelista.
A melhor forma de descobrir se você tem o dom de evangelista é praticando! Você poderá ser chamado para ser evangelista se:
Aparecem muitas oportunidades para falar de Jesus
Quando você evangeliza as palavras fluem naturalmente
As pessoas ficam muito interessadas ou se convertem quando você fala sobre Jesus
No entanto, é bom lembrar que isso não vem de você; é um dom do Espírito Santo. Somente o Espírito Santo convence as pessoas do pecado e da salvação em Jesus (João 16:7-8). O trabalho do evangelista é falar mas é Deus quem converte.

An evangelist is a person who has the gift of preaching the gospel, bringing people to Jesus. God uses the evangelist to convince people of sin and the need for salvation. The work of the evangelist is very important but also requires the cooperation of other members of the church.
God distributes various gifts among people, for the edification of the church. One of these gifts is the gift of evangelist (Ephesians 4:11-12). The person who has the gift of evangelist has a special ability to explain the gospel in a convincing way to those who do not yet know it.
Gospel means “good news”. The evangelist is the person who brings the good news about salvation in Jesus to other people. However, this is not the exclusive work of the evangelist. Every believer has the duty to preach the gospel to those who do not yet believe (Mark 16:15). The evangelist has only one major gift for the gospel.
What does an evangelist do?
The main function of an evangelist is to introduce people to Jesus, showing them the way of salvation. Through conversations or preaching, the evangelist explains about sin, the need for salvation, and how Jesus came to save us. The evangelist helps people take a step of faith and give their lives to Jesus.
The work of the evangelist must be supported by the rest of the church. Conversion is only the first step. Each person who is converted needs to be integrated into the Christian community and taught how to live for Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20). And this is not the responsibility of the evangelist; it is everyone's responsibility.
An evangelist can also have other gifts. In the New Testament, a follower of Jesus named Philip was known as an evangelist. In addition to leading many people to conversion, Philip also had the gift of serving, performing miracles, and healing the sick (Acts 8:5-7).
Who can be an evangelist?
Anyone who has the gift can be an evangelist! In any case, we should all preach the gospel when we have the opportunity. Evangelizing is not the exclusive job of the evangelist.

Many opportunities arise to talk about Jesus
When you evangelize, the words flow naturally
People become very interested or are converted when you talk about Jesus
However, it is good to remember that this does not come from you; it is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit convinces people of sin and salvation in Jesus (John 16:7-8). The job of the evangelist is to speak, but it is God who converts.
